Tandet is a member of NationaLease, a franchise network of professional independently owned lease companies throughout North America. Tandet's clients benefit with coast to coast Emergency 24 hour Road Service for lease or rental trucks covered by NationaLease programs. They also benefit from NationaLease Group Purchasing Programs and National Accounts Programs that contribute to Tandet's competitive market position in both pricing and ability to service multi-branch operations. Tandet takes a leadership role in NationaLease. John Tilley was the first Canadian to be NationaLease chairman and was recently recognized for 15 years of service on the board.

Tandet Kenworth owns dealerships in Kingston, Ottawa and Peterborough. Being part of this professional dealer network further enhances Tandet's expertise with access to Kenworth business, technical and service resources. Our clients also benefit from the North American wide service network covered by Kenworth programs.

Ontario Trucking Association

Tandet is a long standing member of the Ontario Trucking Association. This association keeps its members abreast of regulatory, safety and general industry issues. It also represents the industry toall levels of government. The CTA is the national assembly of provincial associations. In 1998, Tandet was presented the CTA & Royal SunAlliance Award for the Safest Fleet in the Nation.

Tandet History

Tandet was founded by John Tilley in 1978 with the purchase of Oakville Drive Yourself Limited. As the business evolved, it specialized in industrial truck leasing, rentals and maintenance.

Growth was accelerated over the years by the acquisition of other similar companies. Diversification came in response to customer demands for more fleet management and driver services with the acquisition of a major transport carrier, and the formation of two dedicated logistics companies.

In 1986, the acquisition of a Kenworth truck dealership in Kingston further enhanced equipment supply integration. Subsequent growth has seen the dealerships expand to Peterborough and Ottawa.
